I’ve become a fan of the oversized hat and while some may find it trendy, it’s become a staple in my wardrobe. Then again, I’m not always daring enough to wear it. It’s warming up hear on the East Coast, and I decided to put my hat to the test. Granted I received stares, I suppose to to its enormous size, but I love it and I can’t wait to find more styling options. The look I put together was the typical all black everything. I purchased the hat from H&M, and there are still variations of the wool hat available on the site. Next up I need an oversized beach hat, but that’s an OOTD for another time. Check out the details below.
This has to be one of the smallest Black Friday shopping trips ever. Last year I purchased 15 movies for under $30 and this year I knew I had to make a stop at Walmart to see what other movies I could score. I did’t want to spend much as I am trying to put more in the bank instead of our the bank. I ended up with four movies: Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse plus Despicable Me for all under $10. I ended up heading over to F.Y.E to see if I could find the rest of the Twilight series, but I ended up getting Fast 6 for $7. Another collection complete. I headed over to Five Below and saw a cute iPad case for $3, originally $5. Only thing I hate bout the animal cases is that they are really never sized to the iPad. They’re typically too big.
Last stop I made was to the mall. H&M didn’t have anything I wanted and I would’ve stopped in Old Navy (50% off entire store), but I would’ve ended up buying more than necessary. Wet Seal had a Buy 1/Get 1 Free sale and I purchased a pair of boots for $40 and got the plaid shirt free. Expect a future OOTD with those items. I stopped in Charlotte Russe as well which had a buy 1/get 1 for $1 on heels and boots, but of course none would be in my size. They had a better selection that Wet Seal. Anywho, I didn’t break the bank and ended up spending /a little over $50. Not too shabby. Check out my pic below & be sure to follow me on Instagram @MusicMovingForward. HAPPY THANKSGIVING WEEKEND!
I have gone through phases of what I have liked to collect/accumulate and now I’m on the hunt for more statement necklaces. I have statement rings that I have given away because it’s just not my style. I have necklaces with different pendants that will be in a future post, plus there’s my statement earrings, and then a collection I love the most my necklaces. The collection includes Juicy Couture, Jewel Mint, Aldo, Forever 21, H&M, Charlotte Russe, Charming Charlie, Wet Seal, and the thrift store.
Check out my collection below, labeled with where they were purchased.
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY BLOGGERS!!!
I’ve been posting tons of OOTDs here on my blog and it seems like forever since I’ve posted one. I’m really into putting more looks together for the blog and I thought the 4th of July would be there perfect time. I put together three looks, but future lookbooks will have more! Be sure to check out my Birkenstock lookbook HERE! Please excuse the photography, eventually it’ll get better (I have no one to take pics of me) Lastly be sure to click the links to take you directly to an item or an item similar. ENJOY!
I have yet another OOTD, Mother’s Day Edition. I’m not doing anything major for the day, but I decided to dress up just a little. My pieces are from Forever 21, a local thrift store, and my usual jewelry from H&M/NY&CO/Wet Seal. Check out the details below. Be sure to check out my outfit from yesterday, OOTD #5: Color Block.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!!
I have an OOTD coming up that will be featuring items from my previous spring hauls. I took advantage of the 5/20 deal and ordered 2 pairs of cropped leggings and 3 crop tops which I can’t wait to style. I did order a white one instead of the fuchsia pink one I received, but I guess it was out of stock. I’ll purchase it elsewhere. Click the links to get to the item.
During Easter weekend I headed over to JCPenny and took advantage of the sale they were having. I knew I wanted a pair of converse, either blue or grey, so with a $10 off $25+ coupon I knew it’d be the perfect time to get them. These were $50, low tops are $45, so i ended up paying $40 for the sneakers which wasn’t a bad deal. I also purchased these with the dress featured in my OOTD #3.
Last but not least I have been eyeing the new palette from Urban Decay. The ‘Electric Pressed Pigment Palette’ is way out of my comfort zone and I won’t go into too much detail as I will be doing a ‘First Impression’ on the palette. Be on the lookout for that. I snagged this on eBay for $42 (+free shipping), regular price $49.
Welcome to another edition of FASHION FORWARD FRIDAY! This week is yet another spring haul. I only have a couple more left in this mini-series. I took yet another shopping trip not really looking for anything, but I came out with a few goodies. I stopped at H&M, Wet Seal, and Hot Topic,
In my previous FFF I stopped at H&M and I picked up a pair of flats. Yet again I wasn’t looking for anything in particular. I did see that they had leggings 2 for $10 and since they are regularly $9.95 I took advantage of the deal. I wish they had cropped ones, but the ankle-length was fine. Click here to purchase the Jersey Leggings. On top of that I got a coupon for $5 off my next purchase. Glad I didn’t toss the bag as soon as I got home.
Next up I headed to Hot Topic out of curiosity and everything in the store was Buy 1, Get 1 50% off so I headed straight to the t-shirts. I came across a few music ones that I wanted, but I decided on the Minion tee for myself and the Bob Marley one for my boyfriend.
Here’s the links to the shirts:
I couldn’t find the exact Bob Marley shirt, but click here to see what other Marley designs are offered.
Lastly I went in Wet Seal to see they were having a MAJOR sale. The sale included buy 1 shirt, get 1 for $5. All hair accessories buy 1, get 1 50% off, all jewelry 50% off, and on certain items an additional 60% would be taken off. To go with my Minion t-shirt from Hot Topic, I got a ‘Happy’ chain for $4.75 and the earrings were $3.75 a regular $7.50 for the set. I also picked up a few headbands. The daisy one for, $4.24, and the double headband set for $3.75 with the buy 1 get 1 50% off deal.
There’s an outfit planned with the Happy chain & Minion shirt so stay tuned for that. Here’s the links I found to some of the items I purchased.
I went home and purchased a couple more items from Wet Seal so stay tuned for those in my Spring Haul Pt. 3. If you missed out on Pt. 1, click here.
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!
I decided I’d share my Easter outfit of the day. I hope that you all enjoy your Sunday and are ready for the new week! Be sure to check out my Casual OOTD from yesterday here. Also be sure to click the links within the pictures.
I had initially planned on wearing this:
BUT since the weather would below 50 degrees I decided on a pants & blazer ensemble instead and keep the accessories/makeup I had originally planned.
I love incorporating YouTube tags here on my blog and I discovered this one while watching one of my fav YouTubers, BeautyCrush. Here are my 5 key accessories for Spring.
1. Duffle Handbag
This is by far the most used handbag in my collection. It was also featured in my first Fashion Forward Friday series, “What’s In My Bag.” I absolutely love this bag and I can throw anything and everything in it. I love the slouchy look of it, the long strap and shorter shoulder straps and I love using the front zipper to store my keys, phone, and mini vaseline. The inside of the bag is endless and I will say that without smaller bags it can become a complete mess. The color goes great with any outfit I pair it with. I purchased this bag from Old Navy over a year ago and the material/style is similar to the Women’s Zip-Pocket Tote & the Women’s Zip-Flap Crossbodies currently available online.
2. Clutch/Evening Bag
I talked about this bag in my “V-Day Outfits (Day & Night)” post in another installment of Fashion Forward Friday. I cannot afford a Chanel so this is the next best thing. I love that this bag can be worn there ways: clutch, shoulder, and cross-body. The chain strap is what really sold me on this bag.I purchased it from Aldo for under $40 which was a great buy for this bag. The bag is called the “Pilloud-98”. When I’m not carrying my everyday bag this is the bag that I go to for a night out.
3. Jean Jacket
It took me forever to hunt down a jean jacket in my size and I was lucky enough to score one in Forever 21 for under $30. I now have 5 jean jackets in my wardrobe, but this one I wear more than the others. I love my jean jackets whether they are cropped, synched at the waist, or basic such as this. I would love a light wash denim vest for summer. Still on the hunt for that. I love to pair this jacket with leggings/ printed jeggings and it would be great to style with a pair of joggers.
4. Chunky Necklace
I have so many statement pieces in my collection. Stay tuned for an accessory collection/storage post within the next week. My best friend gifted me this Juicy Couture necklace and I love to pair it with any and everything I can. The pop of pink works with a lot of outfits more than I thought it would. I love to pair this with a basic tea, a printed skirt/pant and a pair of flats.
5. Hoop Earrings
This is the easiest thing that I throw on. A lot of people may go for studs, but I love my hoops. These are new from Wet Seal and so glad to have 3 new pairs since I’ve misplaced mine other 2 pairs of silver ones form H&M & Forever 21. It’s so effortless to throw these on and majority of the time it’s the only jewelry I wear.
