Plan With Me | Are You Ready for Some Football?

Welcome to another plan with me here on the blog. I am excited to share this spread. Football season is in full swing and although I’ve done football spreads in the past, I had to do another one. Since I’ve done 3 before, I like to challenge myself to use different stickers washi and see what I can do differently to create a completely different spread.

Sound Off: NFL, Marijuana, & Suspensions

Football season is right around the corner. Preseason starts with the Hall of Fame Game on August 7th and the first official game of the season starts September 8th. I’m beyond excited and ready to see my squad, The PITTSBURGH STEELERS, make their way to the Super Bowl. Last year, we were close, but injuries got in the way. Just when I thought we were healthy, we have two key players that get suspended for substance abuse violations.

Sound Off: Sad Night for Steeler Nation

As a Steelers fan, I couldn’t be more upset that our road to the Super Bowl has come to an end. With it being Superbowl 50 and Steelers winning Super Bowl 40, I thought we could’ve went to the top. The road was similar to our journey back then. The 6th seed, the under dog. The one no one thought would make it and we went  on to beat the Seattle Seahawks.

Again that’s history. We could’ve made major history because I truly believed we would not only beat the Broncos but go and beat the Patriots. We could have not only won Super Bowl 50, but won our 7th championship. There’s always next year, right?

Plan With Me: November 9th-15th

Welcome to another plan with me edition. Last week I did a fall theme using stickers from the Etsy shop Pineapple Paper Co. I am a part of the PR team for the company and I wanted to share the stickers that were sent and show how I would use them in a layout. For more details on Pineapple Paper Co click HERE and to see my plan with me from last week (11/2-11/8) click HERE. Below is my layout from last week fully filled in. I had a lot of fun tracing the stickers.

First thing I did differently for this layout was switch up my blog/social media and my daily to-do’s. I’ve never done the Morning/Afternoon/Evening or for you Erin Condren lovers Morning/Day/Night (MDN in the planner world). On top I usually put my blog/social media posts, middle has my TV shows for the week and once before my school work, and the bottom my personal daily to-do list. I decided to switch the top and the bottom and I moved my Weekend banner to the middle section.

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month and the colors of lung cancer are white so I was generally going for a black/grey/white theme. Bland as far as color scheme compared to my other layouts, but in using these colors in a printed form I thought it would work. I ended up using adhesive paper that I purchased from Michaels for my full boxes, but little did I know that they were transparent. I’ve created full boxes with scrapbook paper, but with this thin paper it was more difficult.

I didn’t like the direction that I was going so I took a step back from planning. I was overthinking the layout since I was recording a video so I went to sleep Saturday night with a half planned layout. I woke up bright and early Sunday and I finished with adding a pop of blue. I was thinking pink, but I haven’t solely added blue to a layout before plus I had a decked out planner layout in October (10/5-10/11). In adding the pops of blue the layout started to come somewhat together.

I’m still not sure what I’ll be doing to the sidebar. Right now there’s just black washi. I’ve been loving putting scrapbook paper in the sidebar and layering stickers from there, but I didn’t have any scrapbook paper that really worked with the chevron that I was using. No video this week since I just wasn’t feeling this layout, but let’s consider this a blog “exclusive.” Check out the layout below and stickers used/similar styles will be linked. Enjoy!

Plan With Me: October 26th-November 1st (Halloween Theme)

Welcome to another plan with me. It’s the week of Halloween which means my favorite month of the year has basically come to an end. In the meantime, let’s que up a classic Hocus Pocus. If only I had created a theme for that. This week I centered my layout around yet another Darice sticker book titled ‘Happy Halloween.’ Before going further, here’s a look at my ‘Spooky Pumpkin’ theme from last week (October 19th-25th).

The Darice sticker books are a great way to build a sticker collection for someone who is new at planning. Majority of the sticker books come with 6 pages and if you have a friend that’s planning you can split the costs and share the stickers, splitting the books in half. I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned this in a previous plan with me of some sort, but I can’t rave enough about the Darice sticker books. You can create so many layouts with them.

IMG_2323Another thing that I added to this layout was scrapbook paper. While scrapbook paper is thick and might bulk up the pages, this worked out very well. I had this textured scrapbook paper and the purple stripes worked great in the middle, but the top was missing something so I added scrapbook paper to that as well except in every other box. I used a printable instead of Etsy stickers since I’m limited on those and the printables I decided to use was between Wendaful and Vintage Glam Studio. I ended up using the one from Wendaful although both are great options.

It took quite a while to cut out the stickers which is why I prefer pre-cut stickers, but a little time a patience did the trick. Adding stickers from the sticker book was the bet part. I added more scrap book paper to the sidebar and it really just ended upcoming all together. I even added stickers where the dates are which added yet another touch. Sometimes I’m hesitant in using large stickers since I don’t want to run out of space to write, but similar to my Safari week, it worked.

Cheers to inexpensive & functional planning. Enjoy the video below and click the links to purchase items available.
