NEW MUSIC: Sia, ‘Big Girls Cry’

maggie-ziedler-sia-big-girls-cry-video-officialSia has released yet another video for featuring Maddie Ziegler, this time for ‘Big Girl Cry.’ 1000 Forms of Fear is Sia’s biggest U.S. takeover and I’m excited for her new album. Sia and Maddie first teamed up with the Summer Smash, ‘Chandelier,’ ‘Elastic Heart,’ and now ‘Big Girls Cry.’ They’ve also taken over with their innovative performances on Ellen, Dancing With the Stars, Jimmy Kimmel, SNL, and at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards.

This time around Maddie still has on the signature nude leotard and blonde wig, but she’s sitting which is different from the previous two videos. She’s stated in an interview with Entertainment Weekly (January 2015) that this type of dance is different than what she’s used to:

I didn’t even know what to say. It was such a big change for me, because I’m not used to doing that style in normal dance competitions. It was definitely very different for me, but I love being able to do that kind of style.

I don’t know! It’s like, quirky, contemporary-ish. It’s pretty much all different things put together, because some parts are really soft, some parts are quirky, and then there’s the huge dance break. It’s all different.

At 12 years old she’s living a dream. She has a bright future ahead of her and it’s great that she’s able to get out of her comfort zone now and taste the fame. Hopefully more artists will call her on for some choreography. ‘Chandelier’ is definitely one of the greatest videos of all time. She’ll always have that as a reminder of how talented she is.

Sia and Maddie have had quite the run. Check out their latest collab below:

SNL, ‘The Beygency’

Spider-Man 2 star, Andrew Garfield, learned the hard way of what it’s like NOT to be a Beyonce fan. His dislike for the mega track ‘Drunk In Love’ resulted in the a secret agent team by the name of, ‘The Beygency’ coming to put him behind bars for his indecency.

He turned against his country, and it’s queen”

Another great one from SNL. Check out the skit below:

Kanye West is fresh off the Yeezus tour and is taking a page out of fiancee, Kim K.’s, book and sat down for a ‘late night’ interview with new host and SNL album, Seth Meyers. In the interview he discussed Yeezus, parenthood, fashion, new music, and more.

Jimmy Fallon Takes on Hip-Hop

In Jimmy Fallon’s welcoming week as new host of ‘The Tonight Show’ saga, he’s been bring out the big guns with guests including: First Lady Michelle Obama, Will Ferrell, Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper, Jerry Seinfield and more.

His first guest Monday was Will Smith and they performed their segment ‘Evolution of Hip-Hop Dancing.’ which included: the ‘cabbage patch,’ the ‘pop and lock,’ the ‘wop,’ ‘MC Hammer,’ the ‘carlton,’ the ‘twerk,’ and more.

The week just wouldn’t be complete if Fallon didn’t bring out Justin Timberlake and the duo added a 5th installment to their impromptu series, ‘The History of Rap.’

In their medley they performed: DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince ‘Fresh Prince Theme, LL Cool J ‘I’m Bad,’ OutKast’s ‘So Fresh, So Clean,’ Ini Kamoze’s ‘Hot Stepper,’ Jay-Z’s ’99 Problems,’ and MORE!

Here are parts 1-4 of ‘The History of Rap’:

I honesty haven’t been awake to catch any of Fallon’s segments, but I will be recording the show because he has set the bar to a new level of late night funny and I’m interested in seeing how his competition will keep up in ratings.

Drake Reveals OVO Snapbacks

Drake Reveals OVO Snapbacks

Drake goes hard for his city and is forever showing love to Toronto. He has 416 tatted and he’s adding more apparel to the site, October’s Very Own, to put on for his city (Jeezy voice). As for the apparel currently on the site it pays homage to his home label, YMCMB and the OVO logo with t-shirts, hoodies, and crew necks, a snapback, and beanies in black & white.

He showcased the snapback designs via his instagram , @champagnepapi and I love how clean and simple they are. Nothing to major or drastic, pretty basic. A snap back does not need extra odds and ends all the time. The snapbacks should be available on the site soon. Hopefully they won’t be too expensive. By the looks of what the beanies cost on the site I could see the snapbacks selling for the same ($36) or making that push to $40-$45.

Sunday Rant (V.3): Drake on SNL + NFL Talk

This week isn’t going to be a long drawn out rant, but I did want to share my feelings on Drake on SNL and the two teams going to the Superbowl.

Let’s get to it.

First off, Drake did an AMAZING job on SNL from the music to all the skits. I’m glad it wasn’t corny or over the top. My favorites included ‘Resolution, Revolution,’ & the A-Rod skit. Here was my #1 fav:

I celebrate Hannukah, dated Rihannaka

CLASSIC BARS! He was undeniably HILARIOUS in his skits. So were a little more bland than others but overall it was a great show.

Moving on to the NFL I first want to start off by saying I am a STEELERS fan. My team was not the best (clearly), but we did finish the season strong. Before I get to the prediction can we PLEASE address Richard Sherman’s rant postgame.

Granted Crabtree did mush his face, but did he have to go crazy like that in an interview? I understand his excitement/emotion being that the incident just happened, but that was just a bit MUCH for me. By the look of the reporters face she was stunned and confused.

Sooo… heading to Met Life Stadium for Superbowl XLVIII (48) are the Denver Broncos versus the Seattle Seahawks. My winner would have to be the Broncos. Picture this. Peyton wins on his younger brothers home backyard. Clear set up for a brother on brother quarterback brawl to see who’ll get the 3rd ring first. Just a theory.

I’m in no rush for the Broncos to win because they’ll have fine and if the Brother/Brother showdown does happen they would have a chance to tie with the Steelers. As a fan I like that we’re the only team with 6 rings. I would like to keep it like that.

Aside from that the Superbowl is going to be in Jersey and being a Jersey resident I can’t wait for it to all be over because the traffic is going to be RIDICULOUS!

Welp, that’s all for this week. Stay tuned for Motivational Monday, New Music Tuesday, my workout playlist and fitness post on Wednesday, Then & Now Thursday with my favorite Superbowl performances & a Friday filled of beauty reviews.

Until next time…
