Plan With Me: B6 Traveler’s Notebook

November already? I wanted to share a spread of how I’m currently planning. I’m using a B6 traveler’s notebook filled with 3 mini journals (lined/dot grid/grid) and other goodies. The one I use for weekly planning is a lined journal that can be found anywhere. With stickers, washi, and my handy dandy pens, I turned bland into grand (cheesy, I know).

Plan with Me | May Monthly + May 2nd – 8th

Welcome to another plan with me here on the blog. In this plan with me I combined my May monthly spread with the first week in May. I kept it pretty simple . As always, click the highlighted links throughout the post. Check out my recent PLANdemonium below:

I had a lot of fun creating this spread. I ran out of the Target Up & Up neon folder labels that I had used in February and March to mark my bills. I also didn’t want to put my events of the month in the sidebar. As for the sidebar, I had left over scrapbook paper I used for my divider and it fit perfectly in the space. I added a MAMBI quote sticker and voila. I used label stickers from Michaels to mark on my friends graduation dinner, WWE’s Extreme Rules, and my brother’s prom + birthday. To mark my bills I went back to the Michaels removable calendar stickers and used colors that worked with color scheme I created on a whim. I’ve been loving Michaels’ Color Splash washi and to fill in the empty boxes I used the thicker roll of the set.

For the weekly spread I wanted to play around with the gold pineapple washi I had. I and purchased two rolls sometime last year and ended up giving one away in a swap because i didn’t like it. I had used it in a previous spread, but I when I found a pineapple list pad at Target, I wanted to incorporate it again. I channeled xoMamaPlans as she switches up how she lays out her washi. I usually just layout out my washi one way so the pineapple would me on one row and the polk a dot on another. I switched it up and I really like how it turned out.

I used the rest of the Sticky Essentials March kit and used the headers and checklist. I had cut the checklist in half in previous spreads and I just alternated between what I had left. Some have the page flag ends while others don’t.  I didn’t put my blog posts on the bottom of each day like I usually do, instead I put them in the sidebar. I used MAMBI stickers for those and the scrapbook paper is the same I used in the sidebar in my Monthly view.

I really love how this spread turned out and it’ll build throughout the week. Be sure to check out my Instagram, @ChaoticCritic, to see how it turns out. Stickers / washi used below.

April Planner Recap

Welcome to another post here on my channel. I apologize for the delay with this post, but it’s here, it’s here, it’s HERE! I love sharing my monthly planner recap to share my tips and tricks in planning along with what works for me and what doesn’t. As always, be sure to click highlighted links throughout the post and check out my previous recaps below:

My favorite part of planning this month was diving into my sticker stash and using up stickers I had from the Sticky Essentials March kit. I’ve been loving green in my planner and it’s a color scheme that will continue throughout the rest of the year.

April ‘This Month Currently’ + Divider + Monthly Spread

IMG_3436IMG_3437

I love decorating the ‘This Month Currently’ section of my planner. I use it primarily to track my music favorites and other events of the month #PlannersNightOut, but you can use it to track you month goals or add snapshot pictures. Don’t let the generic page stray you away from using it. Make the most of it by making it your own. Add washi, stickers, scrapbook paper. I’d recommend using adhesive tape instead of glue so that the paper doesn’t fold. The great thing about the Happy Planner is the flexibility of adding and taking out pages at your leisure. Have fun with the pages and look beyond the typical multi-colored pens.

As my divider, I had purchased a sheet of scrapbook paper from Hobby Lobby and I used it in my ‘This Month Currently’ plus the sidebar of my monthly spread. I added stickers from Hobby Lobby and a Darice sticker book and that was that. Nothing major. My monthly view was nothing spectacular either. I would love to try out what xoMamaPlans does in her spreads and write something that happened every single day as a month at a glance and then put my bills, birthdays, events in the sidebar. That’s an option for future months.

April 1st – 3rd

IMG_3433

I partly shared this spread in my March Recap. It was Wrestlemania week and I used the wrestling stickers I had from Dollar Tree. I used this section as a scrapbook style to track who entered the Hall of Fame, plus the key matches of the night. I also added in a DIY match card which is just a blank list pad sheet. This style is great if you want to track a weekend get away.

April 4th-10th

IMG_3431

This week I used a Darice sticker book. I didn’t overload my spread with stickers and I noticed that during the weekend my list gets longer, simply because I have more time. Well, aside from time, I pushed a lot of what I could’ve done after work to the weekend. Whatever. I would’ve like to space out my weekend, but then again it shows when I get a bulk of my work done. The only thing I would’ve added was a sticker over the calendar. I hate the calendar in the corner and I’m so glad I have stickers to last me a while to cover it every week.

April 11th-17th | 15 Minute Challenge | Minion Spread

IMG_3430

I shared a post on this spread since I created a challenge for it. I set my timer to 15 minutes to see how much of a spread I could actually complete. I don’t like to rush when I plan. A lot of my spreads are built throughout the week. I like to leave open space and then add from there. I was able to plan basically everything in the 15 minutes, but having my stickers scattered int he process set me back. Not a decked out minion spread, I know.

April 18th-25th | JuJuAllOver | Dulce Collection

IMG_3429

I used a  kit for this week simply because Planner’s Night Out at Michaels was on the 21st. Other than that, I would’ve used stickers from a previous kit. The key difference opposed to other kits I’ve used in my planner was the rearrangement of full boxes. I also love that kits are coming with a washi sheet for the bottom bar and to match the full boxes. Most kits are made for the Erin Condren, but having the washi strips make them easy to work into the Happy Planner. I love how the spread turned out although I would’ve placed my boxes a little differently. These stickers from JuJuAllOver are not removable so once they’re down, they’re down.

April 25th – May 1st

IMG_3432

And just like that, April was OVER! There was a lot of changes at work and I needed a daily boost to keep me motivated. I used a printable from Etsy, but you can easily create a printable of motivational quotes on your own. I used them throughout he spread and added the Michaels Color Splash washi here and there. Pretty simple spread.

Quick Tips:

  • Experiment between a completely open spread versus “no white space.” It’s fun to use kits, but leave yourself room to actually USE your planner.
  • Icons, on Icons, on Icons! If you never know where to start with buying stickers, buy multi-colored icon stickers. They’ll work with any spread you want to create.
  • Make use of your stash of list pads from Target / Michaels / Dollar Tree. Use them to create longer lists and hole punch them into your planner or use washi tape. I use them for longer cleaning lists and lately my blog posts for the month. Being that I hole punch mine, I can move it week to week with no problem.
  • Don’t force yourself to make long daily to do lists because that’s how the sticker was made. Cut it if you have to and make it work for you! I prefer a daily top 3 opposed to a longer list that I used to use.

Stickers/Washi Used throughout the month are below:

Plan With Me | April 18th-24th | JuJuAllOver

Welcome to another plan with me here on the blog. As I’ve stated in other posts, I won’t be doing plan with me’s every single week, but planner content can be expected. This week I decided to get “fancy” in my planner with a kit since MAMBI is having a free ‘Planner’s Night Out’ on Thursday the 21st . Check out my 15 minute planner challenge from last week HERE. ALso be sure to click all the highlighted links throughout the post.

Plan With Me: March 14th – 20th

Welcome to a new Plan With Me. I have noted in previous posts that I will be doing at least two plan with me’s per month. So this week, St. Patrick’s week plus next week, Easter Week, will feature plan with me’s. If you’re new to the blog, check out what’s new on Chaotic Critic below plus be sure to click all highlighted links throughout the post.

This spread featured a kit from Sticky Essentials which I featured in a recent Etsy sticker haul (click HERE). For this spread I wanted to stick with stickers specifically from this kit minus the decorative stickers.

On the sampler sheet there were 12 checklists and I’ve been loving making my daily to do’s my daily top 3. This is great way to maximize your stickers as well. The checklists featured 6 which I cut in half so I have enough to complete another spread when I want. As for the icons, I placed them throughout the spread to mark bills and other important notes throughout the week. I then layered them with a page flag. I also used the page flags to mark my blog posts for the week.

IMG_3268.JPG

The full boxes went into the middle section and to fill the gap I used the half boxes included the kit. The kit did include half boxes with horseshoes, but I opted to use the ones with the clover and plaid instead. The half boxes will be filled in with what I’m watching for the week.

As for my sidebar I use it to track social media and I’ve been loving using weekly habit stickers. Before I would my track my Instagram posts daily, but I used a habit tracker sticker from Fabulously Planned and ever since then I love the concept. It’s easier to manage. I also track my assignments for the week.

I’ve been loving leaving the empty space and building my spread throughout the week. I thought that I would prefer “no white space” spreads, but I really love seeing the paper. Filling the middle section is as far as I plan to go with complete “no white space.” That section as a “today” section to place my bills, appointments, and other events.

My favorite about this kit was that the full boxes and half boxes were St. Patrick’s day themed. Everything else was pretty neutral to use in future spreads. I’ve seen other spreads that feature shamrock checklists, but I love this design so much better.

The decorative stickers were purchased from AC Moore and I split the stickers with my friend. That’s the great thing about planning when you have friends that are into it like you are. Well, close enough. Links to stickers used will be below plus a few alternatives.
