For those new to my blog, hi my name is Lakia and I’m a die hard Steelers fan. I know, who cares. Hell, I do. For those that have been readers here and there, one time or another you’ve come across football related posts. I’m no stranger to sharing how much of a Steelers fan I am. Well, a football fan in general. Continue reading “Sound Off: Sincerely, A Depressed Steelers Fan”
Welcome to another plan with me here on the blog. I am excited to share this spread. Football season is in full swing and although I’ve done football spreads in the past, I had to do another one. Since I’ve done 3 before, I like to challenge myself to use different stickers washi and see what I can do differently to create a completely different spread.

Football season is right around the corner. Preseason starts with the Hall of Fame Game on August 7th and the first official game of the season starts September 8th. I’m beyond excited and ready to see my squad, The PITTSBURGH STEELERS, make their way to the Super Bowl. Last year, we were close, but injuries got in the way. Just when I thought we were healthy, we have two key players that get suspended for substance abuse violations.
As a Steelers fan, I couldn’t be more upset that our road to the Super Bowl has come to an end. With it being Superbowl 50 and Steelers winning Super Bowl 40, I thought we could’ve went to the top. The road was similar to our journey back then. The 6th seed, the under dog. The one no one thought would make it and we went on to beat the Seattle Seahawks.
Again that’s history. We could’ve made major history because I truly believed we would not only beat the Broncos but go and beat the Patriots. We could have not only won Super Bowl 50, but won our 7th championship. There’s always next year, right?
It’s my favorite time of year, NFL PLAYOFFS. Yet it’s bittersweet because football season is almost over. Oh the drought of something to watch until the fall. It’s been one hell of a wildcard weekend. The Chiefs, Steelers, Seahawks, and Packers have all advanced to the divisional round. Yet, the real highlight was the battle between the Bengals and the Steelers. Let’s recap the other scores of the Wildcard Games:
- Kansas City Chiefs vs. Houston Texans | 30-0
- Seattle Seahawks vs. Minnesota Vikings | 10-9
- Green Bay Packers v. Washington Redskins | 35-18
The Pittsburgh Steelers have redeemed themselves from a sloppy game in the first week against the Super Bowl champs, the New England Patriots. Thankfully the game wasn’t a blowout (28-21), but the as a fan, the momentum of the team is disappointing. The team can be on a roll and then no scoring in the next quarter. Are the Steelers really being beat, or are they beating themselves?
As a Steelers fan I could not be happier that Tom Brady’s suspension was upheld. First off, if there’s any team I hate as much, okay nearly as much as the Ravens, it’s the Patriots. It’s just something about them that I can’t stand. No it’s not the previous cheating allegations, no it’s really nothing against Tom Brady because he’s a beast as what he does. No it’s not the owner, general manager, coach. It’s just something about the team that irks me.
So the Wildcard games are officially over and here are the results:
My picks were (click HERE for the post):
- Cardinals v. Panthers – Cardinals
- Ravens v. Steelers – Steelers
- Bengals v. Colts – Colts
- Lions v. Cowboys – Lions
I have blogged numerous times about my LOVE for football. I love everything about the sport and my favorite team the PITTSBURGH STEELERS!!! #SteelerNation
Anywho,it’s that time of year again. The road to the Super Bowl. I wanted to get my picks/predictions in for the Wildcard Round. I wasn’t consistent during the season in posting, but I will be for the Wildcard and so on. In the meantime check out my Super Bowl review and Halftime review HERE and HERE(thanks in advance). Let the Sunday Rants commence. It’s been MONTHS since I’ve just typed whatever, no holds barred, and with football season in full swing, it’s time for the weekly Sunday rants to continue. I’m no stranger to blogging about football, but I haven’t said anything since 2011. Let’s get back to it.
