HAPPY APRIL FOOLS! I managed to make it through the entire day without any jokes on me. Cheers to that. I wanted to share my March favorites which isn’t that much PLUS what I would’ve like to accomplish this month.
I came across Canva at the top of the year and it is definitely an essential for me in creating thumbnails for my posts. In addition to Canva, I’m a huge fan of Polyvore and I like to combine the two. No sense in hiding what you use. If it works, share it. Everyone has their own creativity within. USE IT!
I’m still obsessed with NCIS and I’ve actually started watching the show over on Netflix. I plan to buy the entire series before the year is over. Preferably around Black Friday when the price drops to $10 a season. Anywho, I’m sad that Michael Weatherly (Dinozzo) will be leaving at the end of the season which is next month. Speaking of people leaving shows, I had no idea that Shemar Moore (Morgan) from Criminal Minds was leaving. The ending of that episode was just so sad.
Just like I shared in January and February, I’ve been compiling a list I’ve been compiling a list of music favorites for the year. I’ve actually been listening to the Coldplay’s ‘Adventure of a Lifetime’ plus Taylor Swifts ‘New Romantics’ on rotation, but new to the list include:
- Desiigner – ‘Panda’
- Justin Bieber – ‘Company’
- Kent Jones – ‘Don’t Mind’
- Rachel Platten – ‘Fight Song’
Aside from what I’ve enjoyed this month, there’s a lot I would have liked to accomplish.
- More job searches.
- Starting a new book.
- Daily devotions!
- More videos. I’m tired of the repetitious planner vids.
- Better eating habits PLUS daily workouts.
- Better money management.
I think it’s essential in taking note of what you would have liked to accomplish in a month to start you up for the upcoming month. I know that I would like a new job by June as well as losing weight and getting in shape for a fall lung cancer run. Taking action with these steps and really focusing on what I want to accomplish is a great start to the month. I’ll be able to prioritize better for sure.
Cheers to a productive April and be sure to check out my playlist below!
January 2016 has been an amazing start to a new year and I’ve fallen in love with a lot of stuff, but I’ve separated my favorites into two categories: fashion and entertainment. Click here for my 2015 obsessionsLet’s get into fashion first.
I’ve been loving to layer and a lot of my favorites revolve around that. I love my plaid shirts and right now I only have 3 and I’d like to add a black/white/grey one along with a black/red one. Then there’s the turtle neck trend. Modernly known as the “mock neck.” I prefer for mine to be ribbed opposed to the typical cotton shirt. I need to a grey one for sure.
I also have been loving basic long-sleeved shirts, preferably crew necks. I like v neck t-shirts, but as far as long sleeved I just prefer crew necks. I definitely need to buy a black one soon. Lastly as far as layering are these tanks that i have and unfortunately I don’t know the brand at all. I love these because they’re long and if I’m wearing leggings they’re long enough to cover my bottom.
My last fashion favorite for the month are my Timbs. I’ve had them for about 8 or 9 years now and they’re my STAPLE for winter. I wear them with any and everything. They just work. Eventually I want to get a new pair, but I just can’t let these go. Links to similar styles mentioned are below:
Moving on to entertainment I have a book, a TV show, plus music. First up for the book, I loved reading and taking notes on La La Anthony’s “The Power Playbook.“It will be the first installment to my ‘Chaotic Reads’ series so be on the lookout for that. As for a TV show, Netflix comes through again. I fell in love with ‘Fixer Upper’ which is similar to ‘Flip or Flop’ and ‘Property Brothers.’ I just love the vibe of this show so much more.
Lastly, it just wouldn’t be a favorites list for me without music right? Right. I’ve created a playlist on Spotify that I’ll be adding to frequently to highlight all of my music favs. If I had to pick just one song from my list as #1 favorite, I’d have to go with Yo Gotti’s ‘Down in the DM.’ I freaking love that song. Check out the playlist below:
I was pondering whether or not to write about Beyoncè‘s latest single ‘Formation.’ It’s all over Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, etc. It’s everywhere. I mean, it’s BEYONCÈ (Oprah voice). No this isn’t a video review. While the visual was dope, I wanted to focus more so on the lyrics.

Training camp has started which means football season is around the corner. Hurray! There’s been plenty of coverage of what’s going on during the training camps from the various teams. Two pictures in particular that are floating around is that of Ciara, Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks, and Baby Future. They were spotted a couple weeks ago at the San Diego Zoo looking like a cute little family. Yet, a lot are bashing Ciara for bring her son around her boyfriend. Is it too soon?

Another month has come and gone and it’s time for another round of favorites. It’s crazy that we’re halfway through 2015. Check out my favorites of the year so far below:
Ok so getting into this months favorites there are a few Apps that I wanted to share. Two are games and the other is a picture editing app. So first up, the two games are Languinis and ToyBlast. I heard of Languinis from one of my favorite YouTubers, Kayla Lashe (akaydoll), and it’s a mix of bejeweled and the typical word games that continue to reinvent themselves. You match up colors to reveal letters and you make words to meet the challenges of each level.
While I was obsessed with Languins the first half of June, my obsession with ToyBlast is insane. I’ve seen a lot of YouTubers talk about it, but first heard about it in a video from Sarah Rae Vargas. In the game you get to match up the colored blocks, but when you match up a certain number of blocks you can get a rocket, bomb, or cube which helps to win each level. It’s pretty addicting. I don’t stay hooked on games often and I was hooked on Soda Crush for a while, but this is by far my favorite.
Moving on to Netflix. I’ve starting watching NCIS, yes I know I’m so late as the show is in season 13. Hey I’ve watched Criminal Minds all on Netflix, NCIS looks to be a keeper. In the span of two weeks I’ve watched my latest favorite show that I can’t wait to add to my fall watch list, Hawaii Five-0. McGarret is not only hot, but I’m just in love with the personality of the character. If you’re into action, shooting, blood, and unnecessary antics, this show is for you. Such a good series and I really hope it can stick around past season 6. The new season will debut this fall beginning September 25th on CBS.
As for my fashion favorites I’ve been loving maxi dresses simply because they’re so effortless. I’ve also been loving my latest treasures from H&M, my statement necklaces and midi rings. Lastly, my sandals from Old Navy have become a daily staple. I wish I would’ve purchased them in different colors. Check out the related posts below:
Lastly music, because it wouldn’t be a monthly favorites without music. I’ve compiled a Summer Vibes playlist and it’s a mix of some old and new and I’ll be adding to it all Summer. Enjoy!
Welcome to another edition of This Week In Music. Be on the lookout for MAJOR changes coming to the blog. I’ll save that for another post. Check out what’s been posted this week below:

This is a double header of Original v. Cover. I heard covers of both ‘B*tch Better Have My Money’ and ‘Trap Queen.’ Both of which I surprisingly enjoy.

I’ve decided to keep it simple for Tuesday post, although I’m off my blogging schedule, and share some new music. First up, Disclosure. Disclosure is best known for their smash ‘Latch’ featuring Sam Smith and this time around they’re back with a new track titled,’Holding On’ featuring Gregory Porter. I’ve listened to it a few times and I don’t find it as mainstream as ‘Latch,’ but then again not everything needs to be mainstream. Not my fav, but a nice listen. Check it out below:
Two remixes have dropped. The first is that of Ariana Grande’s, ‘One Last Time,’ featuring Fedez. This version was re-released for the Italian Market. As for who Fedez is, he’s a singer/rapper. The other remix is that of Future’s gibberish, ‘F*ck Up Some Commas.’ He’s enlisted the help of Big Sean and THE BOSS Rick Ross. for this one.I still love the song even though it took me a while to decipher what the hell Future was saying. Listen to both tracks below:
Rob Thomas is working on a new album since 2009s,,. The first time I heard Rob Thomas was his smash ‘This Is How a Heart Breaks.’ What could be a super cool song has basic lyrics and melody. Granted that could be catchy, but there’s nothing outstanding about this song. I could hear the music in a commercial or something, but not constantly on the radio waves. Listen below:
Lastly Jason Derulo is on quite a roll as he’s gearing up to release his new album and follow-up to Talk Dirty, This time he’s teamed up with J. Lo for a track titled ‘Try Me.’ Now I’m not in love with this one as much as I am with ‘Want You To Want Me,’ but I could hear this one the radio simply because J.Lo is featured.Everything is 4 drops June 2nd. Listen to the track below:
