Traveler’s Notebook Flip Through

Welcome to another post here on the blog. I’m on a roll with posts again, thankfully. In this post I’m sharing a flip through of my traveler’s notebook.  I love that with the traveler’s notebook you can have all you want in one central location. While I’m using this specifically for journaling, it’s a great planner option with plenty of space to track other areas in your life. This flip through includes my traveler’s notebook from cover to cover including my inserts, dashboards, pockets, and all the repurposed items I’ve used.

2017 Planner Set Up

Welcome to another post here on the blog. I hope that you’re enjoying the new look of the blog and I can’t wait to share more content with you guys. In this post I’ll be hearing my planner set up / line up for the new year. For the past (almost) two years I’ve been using one planner, a Happy Planner. It’s actually the 18 month ‘Good Things Are Going to Happen’ edition. I just addd in 2 additional months to begin in May of 2015.

This year I’ll be starting my year off with 5 planners. Yes, 5 planners. Each serve a different purpose. Each item was featured in my Planning for 2017 series here.

Fall Memory Keeping | Plum Paper Planner

Welcome to another post here on the blog and this is officially my last FALL post of the year. Let the Christmas overload begin! In this post I wanted to share some pages from November in my Plum Paper planner since I really didn’t share any planning in my Happy Planner. I’ll be using my Plum Paper for play planning, mock spreads, memory keeping, whatever you want to call it. I have a review coming soon, plus all the planners I’ll be using in 2017. Stay tuned for that. In the meantime, you can check out my Planning for 2017 series HERE.

Decorate With me | Traveler’s Notebook

IT’S OFFICIALLY PRE-SEASON! Since February I’ve been waiting for football season to start and it’s finally time to get back into the swing of things. In this post I’ll be sharing how I set up the Steelers schedule in my traveller’s notebook. The one I’m using is from Michaels (better known as a string journal), but the concept is the same. I had made a dashboard schedule for my Happy Planner and I couldn’t resist making one for my journal.

June Favorites

We are OFFICIALLY half way through 2014 and it’s crazy how fast the year has gone by thus far. In this edition of monthly favorites I have incorporated some of my other favorites aside from music so let’s get to it. As always be sure to click the links to take you directly to the item, or something similar.

I have fallen in love again with my iPad 3 and since I haven’t used it in so long, I’ve forgotten just how much I love it. I have a 32GB and it holds just about everything from my music to games and lately my summer reading list. The book that I’ve currently downloaded to my iPad was The Fault In Our Stars (John Green). I hope to be finished within the next week or so, so I can go see it at the movies.

Next up are my TWO fragrances of the month. Something else I’ve fallen in love with again, ‘Sensual Amber‘ from Bath & Body Works. A new scent I’ve discovered that has taken the place of my current fav, ‘Beautiful Day‘, is ‘Pure Paradise’. Love these two and I always prefer BBW triple moisture body creams over the body lotions.

I purchased a new pair of sneakers within the last month and I never blogged about them because I wanted to get some wear out of them. I purchased the Nike Free 5.0 on eBay and I could not be happier. My old sneakers  were getting a bit too tight and I new that I wanted my new sneaker to be lightweight. I could not have chosen a  better shoe and working with kids it’s really easy to move around in these. I can’t wait to snag a neon yellow pair for football season (#STEELERNATION)!

I found this beautiful floral notebook in Barnes & Noble as I was looking in the business/entrepreneurship section. I wanted a new notebook although I’m not sure what I want to write in it, BUT I wanted something new and when I came across this floral journal for $10, I bought it without hesitation. I’ve been using my planner like crazy this past month and with my schedule about to get hectic (stay tuned for details) I’m so glad to have the one I have. Click here for my full planner review. Lastly I have my Clinique bag that holds all my essentials. Check out what’s inside by clicking here. I featured it in my ‘What’s In My Beach Bag’ post.

115746__lo_lmaxresdefaultMoving on, the TV show that I have been obsessed with is Law & Order. I know what you might be thinking, “Why not Orange Is The New Black?” Well that’s a show I plan on binge watching 4th of July weekend with my boyfriend and Law & Order, I’ve just been hooked on. I’ve been a DIE HARD fan of SVU, but now I get to catch up on episodes from the original series, ones I’ve never seen before and I love how the show was put together. Hopefully they’ll add episodes past 1996. I’m so glad I renewed my Netflix membership. Secondly, I’ve been loving WWE Countdown over on the WWE Network and my new favorite on YouTube are ASMR videos. They’ve been the only thing to get me to sleep.

Now it wouldn’t be a monthly favorite without MUSIC! (I mean duh, that’s what the blog is centered around). Enjoy the playlist below of my favorite tracks of the year, thus far (in no particular order):

Motivational Monday (V.10): Taking Risks

It’s been quite some time since I’ve uploaded a ‘Motivational Monday’ and that’s simply because I haven’t felt motivated. I’ve been in this type of slump of not knowing which direction to take. I’ve always been one to plan everything out and not want anything to get in my way. Unfortunately life doesn’t work that way. I can plan and plan and plan, but there’s no guarantee that everything will go the way I want.

I graduated with a B.A. in English Communications-Broadcast Journalism in May 2013. I had my current job although it had nothing to do with my degree. I knew that I wanted to take a year off. I knew that I would still be working at my current job unless I was miraculously hired. I knew that in taking a year off a lot could happen in between that time, but come May 2014 I would need a plan. That plan I new nothing of.

I’ve been hounded about what my next step would be and it was irritating, to say the least, that I never really new. I have so many aspirations and passions. I knew whatever I was going to do in life had to involve writing and being constantly creative. I want my own empire and as crazy as it sounds, well no it’s not crazy. It’s what I want and what I desire. I can make anything happen that I want it all just comes down to stepping out of my comfort zone.

I’ve been working at a daycare center since 2010 and I thought that pursuing a Master’s in education/counseling was something that I would want to do. Then again that all goes back to me staying in my comfort zone of knowing I can excel in that area. I’ve always wanted to teach because I simply like the sense of power and knowing that I can help younger children. Then I thought with counseling it would be great because I’m great with advice, but beyond that with my personal experiences I can relate to a lot of children. With that career path I just know it would be for stability yet on the side I’d be trying to build my empire.

Well I’ve finally decided to stop making my dream of having my own business a dream and to actually put action on it and I’ve applied to grad school and I’ll be starting July 15th. This is something I really wasn’t planning, but it needs to happen. I’ll be pursuing my MBA with a specialization in Entrepreneurship. I know nothing about business, but in order for me to run an efficient one I need to know the ins and outs. This will not be easy, but it’s time I take a chance, take a risk, and step out on faith and do something I really want to do.

I know what will really make me happy is to establish myself and work on what I really want in life which is having my own business and being an author. I can’t wait to release a book and take MusicMovingForward to the next level. I’ve always wanted my own magazine and MusicMovingForward isn’t going to be magazine, per say, but I do want to continue to blog daily regardless of what my career path is. I take joy in sharing my opinion on a variety of subjects and this is the platform in which I do that.

I’m only 22 years old, 23 in October, and now is the time for me to really do what I want and capitalize on everything I want to do. If I fail, then I’ll have to get back up and try a different approach. The quote above explains everything I’m feeling. I’m nervous about pursuing an MBA simply because business is scary to me yet I want to start one. I’m more so afraid of rejection which is normal, BUT if I don’t take this chance now I know I’ll regret it.

Staying comfortable just leads to questions of what if’s and should’ve, could’ve, would’ve. You never know if you’re great at something unless you try. You can’t be afraid of failing at something if you’ve never tried it. This journey is not going to be easy, but just as I am nervous/afraid, I’m just as excited to see where this will take me. My comfort zone is what’s hindering/hurting me from really pursuing my dreams. My comfort zone is all I’ve ever known and in order for me to flourish and grow as a person I’m going to have to take this risk.

Fashion Forward Friday [V.1] : What’s In My Bag?

I see a lot of YouTubers do the oh so common, ‘What’s In My Bag’ tag so I decided to start of my Fashion Forward Friday series with the tag. I can’t take full credit for the name. I got it from one of my FAVORITE YouTubers, TheSocialiteLife.

So here’s a look at what’s in my bag. My bag is from Old Navy and I got it last winter. I couldn’t find the exact style I have online, but here’s a similar style.

Now let’s get into what’s inside. For starters I always have my water bottle. I’m not too particular on the ‘brand’ of water, just as long as it’s not Nestle. I also ALWAYS keep vaseline in my front zipper pocket for easier access.

Next up is my wallet and coin purse (apologies if image is too dark). My wallet is from Ebay and is Betsy Johnson and my coin purse was a gift and is fro Coach.

I always have some type of headphones and a charger (usually to both my iPad & phone). My headphones are from 5 below. YES, 5 BELOW! I don’t feel the need to spend a lot on headphones. I must say that these pump out a lot of sound, especially bass and this is my first new pair in a year.

My ‘makeup’ bag really doesn’t contain much makeup. I commute to work and if my friends want to go out after I usually have a few more lip colors in here. I have makeup, I just don’t wear it. I’m more of a lipstick hoarder. My bag was a Christmas gift and I’m in love. I keep a travel size lotion and body spray in ‘Beautiful Day‘, my ‘monthly goodies’ in the leopard pouch and in the clear pouch, right now, all I have is a lipstick (Revlon Lip Butter – Fig Jam), silver hoop earrings, and my Sephora light up mirror.

I carry this journal around to track down my ‘happy thoughts’ which I use for my Motivational Monday series. I love to have a pen and paper with me at all times and this book has been a lifesaver and I can’t wait to share more of my thoughts with you.

I keep my phone in the front zipper pouch as well and I have an iPhone 5 with a WildFlower case, Leopard Gold Studded.Yes these cases are expensive, $35 a pop, but the quality is AMAZING and I do recommend if you want a little splurge.

Last but not least is my most prized possession, and a huge investment, my 13-inch Macbook Pro. This was a graduation gift to myself this past Spring and I could not be happier. Although I mentioned I have an iPad, I interchange between the two on which I lug around at the moment. My case is from Amazon if anyones interested.

Well, I hope you enjoyed! Leave comments on what’s your bag essentials.
