I’m no stranger to sharing my favorite goodies here on the blog in hopes of one of you tapping into your creative spirit. I love this time of year. Aside from fall and October being my birthday month, the latter part of the year gives any excuse to decorate. As I set up my bullet journal for the month, I thought I’d share my Halloween stash I’ve accumulated.
November already? I wanted to share a spread of how I’m currently planning. I’m using a B6 traveler’s notebook filled with 3 mini journals (lined/dot grid/grid) and other goodies. The one I use for weekly planning is a lined journal that can be found anywhere. With stickers, washi, and my handy dandy pens, I turned bland into grand (cheesy, I know).

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Monday is usually a slot for my Motivational Monday, which will resume next week, but I thought, why not have a little fun today? I’m actually off from work today, but I have something fun coming to the blog this week so the work is never done. Then again, when you’re doing what you love, it’s not work right, right.
I thought for this Halloween edition on Chaotic Critic that I’d take a stroll down memory lane plus plug in a few Halloween questions circulating the web.
Welcome to another Plan with Me here on the blog. I feel as if this series/planning is a bit redundant so I plan on switching things up. Be on the lookout for my Planning for 2017 series in November plus GIVEAWAYS in December that will be on my Instagram (@ChaoticCritic). If you haven’t already or are new to the blog, check out my Planning for Beginners series here.
To switch things up a bit I decided to do a double plan with me. For those that watch the videos, I’ll be doing a mix of both music and voiceover videos from here on out.

Halloween is officially here! People have stormed Party City for what’s left, the candy will be on significant discount by Monday, and October will officially be over. Plus, here in the U.S. we’ll be “gaining” an extra hour or sleep due to the time change. That’s neither here nor there, let’s get into my costume for this year.
I didn’t want to go out and buy a costume so I decided to make use of my Captain America shirt (featured in my Spring haul). In putting the outfit together I knew that I’d be wearing jeans and boots to work, but I needed to make a shield and I wanted a skirt. The shield was the hardest thing to make simply because I could not find a foam board. You could buy one from the dollar store and the paint I used was under $1 each. The paint can be purchased from any craft store in your area.
I had my friend help me with my shield as far as drawing the circles and painting. I do not have the steadies hand to do that. As for the star, I printed one out and I had another friend help me with the glitter. I think adding the glitter really added the special touch. I connected the star to the middle with a glue gun and so that glitter didn’t get everywhere I put a semi thick coat of matte mod podge. You can buy mod podge for just $1 in the Target Dollar Spot or in most local craft stores.
I applied elastic to the back of the shield with a glue gun. I didn’t do any specific measurements, just eyeballed it. I knew that it’d be easier for me to have as a backpack opposed to a shield for my arm. I could have made it smaller which would have been easier to carry around when I went bar hopping, but it wasn’t that bad.
As for the skirt, I purchased it from Joyce Leslie for nearly $20. It had a ballerina feel to it as this bouncer called my Captain America as a ballerina. Hey, I’ll take it. The great thing about the skirt is that I’ll be able to wear it again. I already have a Christmas outfit in my head. It wasn’t red, red, but due to the color of my shirt, it worked. For the night out I just added my leather jacket, some silver hoops, and I was good to go.
What I loved most about this outfit was how easily I was able to transition it from day to night by simply adding the skirt. The shirt I had purchased from Hot Topic which was around $10 in a 2/$20 deal. Something like that. As for what I added including the board, paint, and skirt it all came to around $20. Not bad for a costume. Both the shirt and skirt I’ll be able to wear again. As for my shield, I’ll find a place in my office for it.
Here’s the video I looked at to make the shield. YouTube is a great guide for DIY! Until next year.
Welcome to another plan with me. Last week was my birthday spread and I absolutely love how it turned out. I used a lot of pink (#gopink) which coordinated well with the previous week I did as well. In creating my layout for this upcoming week I enjoyed using the full boxes. When writing on them into the next week there’s no bleed through. It makes it easier to use the Sharpie Fine Points. Check out my spread completely filled out below and click HERE!
In planning for this week I used a Darice sticker book, “Spooky Pumpkin” which I had also used in my October layout. As noted above, I really liked using the full box stickers, but for this spread I didn’t have any. I stuck with the color scheme of black, orange, and yellow. I would have added in some orange washi tape, but the one I have is a bit sheer so I stuck to black.
Initially when planning I had added ghost washi tape on the bottom, but as I continued with the orange/yellow color scheme, I took it off and stuck to the black washi tape. I wanted to do something different in my sidebar and not the traditional TV show stickers I use. I used the TV stickers from RorysSweetAddictions and layered them with large circular dots that I have from the Michaels Recollections calendar stickers.
I usually don’t like long To-Do lists, but this week I hope to fully use them. I have found that while I like shorter to-do lists, the first three days of the week are pretty busy. I also was shorthanded on headers which is something I plan to purchase from Etsy soon, so I used the plain pumpkins and just wrote in To-Do.
The layout overall is pretty empty, but I can’t wait to add and layer throughout the week. Direct links to stickers/washi used will be below along with my weekly video. Enjoy!
