Video Review: ‘They Don’t Love You No More (Remix)’

Remy is officially in her video since her release from prison and it’s a DJ Khaled production, of course. I posted that she had jumped on his track immediately after her release. The song is clearly all about Remy with DJ Khaled moving around and French doing his hook. Other than that all they do is promote Birthday Cake 2 white wine. DJ Khaled also throws in his headphones, B&O, the black & gold editions.

The rest of the video has Remy i three looks. There’s the intro look has a Yankees jacket with matching cropped sweats, peep toe heels and a white tee. Top that off with the backwards baseball cap, hot pink lip, curly hair,  some chains, bamboo earrings and that’s the Remy look. Second look is a leather ensemble. She has on a bandana kimono, leather dress, converse, high socks, straight hair with her signature side bang, a gold chain, oversized earrings, and a red lip. Then there’s an underground scene where she wears another leather ensemble this time a high low shirt with 3D gems, shorts, a two-tone lip (black and green), and of course the big earrings.

Overall the video was nothing spectacular, but it’s great to see Remy back in her element. Although she’s not signed to anyone just yet word is she has a mixtape, I’m Around, dropping as soon as next week.

NEW MUSIC — French Montana x Remy Ma, ‘MEGADEATH’

remy-frenchKhlaed might’ve been the first one to get Remy on a track since her release from prison, but she’s back with another We The Best member as she teams with French Montana. The track ‘MEGADEATH features Remy, French, Jadakiss and production by Swizz Beatz. I could definitely hear this being a radio smash and I really like it.

NEW MUSIC — DJ Khaled, ‘They Don’t Know About Love’

DJ Khaled has teamed up with Jay Z, French Montana and the headliners of MMG (Rick Ross & Meek Mill) for his new track, ‘They Don’t Know About Love’. This is a usual lineup for Khaled except this time around he adds Jay Z to the mix. Take a listen to the track below:

Video Review: Jennifer Lopez, ‘I Luh Ya Papi’

Jennifer Lopez is back with new music and her 10th studio album. Now personally I am a fan of her Jenny From the Block Days, but her music now? Eh, not so much.

First off, kudos to how FAB she looked in this video. I will say this time and time again. There comes a certain point in an artists career when they make the music they want and not so much the music that’s current. That is how I feel about the direction of this J. Lo project. Her first track ‘Same Girl’ was ok. I got the video concept, I just personally didn’t like the song.

Now on to ‘I Luh Ya Papi.’ The video really had nothing to do with the song, but the intro in the beginning explained it all. Guys ALWAYS have the videos with the half naked chicks on a yacht or in a mansion FOR NO REASON! So in the video she flipped the script and had half naked dudes on the yacht while prancing around on a yacht, in front of a pool, and in a mansion for no reason. Sounds about right to me. It was just a fun concept with choreo here and there and an appearance from French Montana. Also, peep J. Lo incorporating the ‘Nae Nae’ in her choreo. I guess it works since videos have no messages now. In a way this video did have a message showing that what’s out right now makes no sense. The video concepts and the choreography are boring and bland.

Do I expect to hear this track on the radio? I don’t know, but the hook (I luh ya Papi, I luh ya, luh ya, luh ya papi) is stuck in my head. So I guess my answer is maybe.

Chris Brown, X, Artwork + Tracklist

There has been NO LEAD on when this album is being released. It was supposed to be released last summer, then last fall, but with everything going on in Chris’ life right now I can see why the album has had such a delay. Don’t count him out though. He’s getting radio play for ‘Love More’ and his feature on August Alsina’s ‘I Love It (Remix)’ with Trey Songz and some others. Here’s what he had to say about the album concept and title:

The direction I wanted to go for this album was the same base I went for the first album. I had a humble mindstate of going in the studio with any producer, any writer, and trying to make a great project. I kinda put the Quincy Jones formula on it, put all of the different producers locked into one studio, and just try to make a great project. I’ll be 24 when the album comes out, so X is the 24th letter in the alphabet. It also means the roman numeral for X. I’ve been doing this for 10 years now. My birthday is 5/5/89, five and five is 10.

Here’s the tracklist (via Rap-Up)

  1. ‘Add Me In’
  2. ‘Autumn Leaves’ (feat. Kendrick Lamar)
  3. ‘Don’t Think They Know’ (feat. Aaliyah)
  4. ‘Do Better’ (feat. Brandy)
  5. ‘Feel That’
  6. ‘Fight 4’ (feat. Onibaku)
  7. ‘Fine China’
  8. ‘Home’
  9. ‘Lady In The Glass Dress’

  13. ‘Something Special’ (feat. Rick Ross)
  14. ‘X’
  15. ‘Wildcat’
