January 20, 2017, Donald Trump has been sworn in as the 45th President of the United States. I repeat, Donald Trump has been sworn in as President of the United States. He is officially President Trump. Obama is officially gone. A new era, however that era may be, is about to begin.
I was 17 years old the day that Barack Obama was elected President of the United States. Never in a million years did anyone think Obama, a black man, would become president. At this point in my life I had only lived through 3 presidents. When I was born, George H. W. Bush was President followed by Bill Clinton. I was in the 5th grade on 9/11 and George W. Bush was president. I also remember the controversy surrounding his elections. I was becoming more aware of politics then, or so I thought.
November 8th. November 8th was the day to vote. November 8th was Clinton versus Trump.
November 9th was the day that history was made. November 9th was the day that a tumultuous battle between the two candidates has ended. November 9th was the day Hillary Clinton conceded. November 9th was the day that Donald Trump was elected to be the President of the United States of America.
