NEW MUSIC: Beyoncé x Chris Brown, ‘Jealous (Remix)’

A new remix has surfaced from Beyoncé, this time she’s teaming up with Chris Brown. They’ve remixed ‘Jealous’ and it’s not one of my favorites from her self-titled album. Interestingly enough Chris says the track was supposed to be featured on the re-release, but didn’t make the cut. The remixes to ‘Flawless,’ ‘Blow,’ and ‘Drunk In Love’ did. The remix doesn’t really do anything for me. Sometime a remix can make you fall in love with a song or fall even more in love if you weren’t already. Maybe that’s why it didn’t make the cut, but fans get to her Breezy and Queen Bey on a track, right?

Anyway, take a listen to the track below:

SNL, ‘The Beygency’

Spider-Man 2 star, Andrew Garfield, learned the hard way of what it’s like NOT to be a Beyonce fan. His dislike for the mega track ‘Drunk In Love’ resulted in the a secret agent team by the name of, ‘The Beygency’ coming to put him behind bars for his indecency.

He turned against his country, and it’s queen”

Another great one from SNL. Check out the skit below:

Feb Favorites

Another year has gone by and the music releases are slowly but surely starting to pick up. Below is a playlist of my current favorites. Not all the music is new. Some of it’s been around for quite sometime, but it’s my current rotation a the moment.

Video: Beyoncé, ‘Partition’

Beyoncé has OFFICIALLY released her video for ‘Partition,’ even though most fans saw it when it hit the net back in December. Her self-titled album, Beyoncé, was released Decemer 13, 2013 as a surprise release and is on its way to having sold 2 million copies.

In Part 4 of her self-titled documentary titled, Liberation, Beyoncé talked about the lyrics of the song:

I was so embarrassed after I recorded the song because I’m just talking shit. I’m like, I can’t play this for my husband. I still haven’t played it for my mom. She’s gonna be very mad at me.

When asked about the concept of the video she stated:

It takes me back to when me and my husband first meet and he’s trying to scoop me and he thinks I’m the hottest thing in the world. I kinda had this whole fantasy of being in the car and this whole movie played in my head.

Check out the video below:

Similar to that of ‘Drunk In Love,’ this song features unofficial remixes from Busta Rhymes and Azealia Banks.

Another ‘Drunk In Love’ Remix!

PicMonkey Collage

I am officially TIRED of ‘Drunk In Love.’ The song coming on a dozen times a day doesn’t bother me. The fact that it plays back to back on different stations or at the same time at different parts doesn’t bother me either. What bothers me is that the song is slowly, no the song is being RUINED. Some songs should stay as is. Some songs don’t need a remix. This song in particular needed NO remix.

Beyonce was talking about being drunk in love with her husband who’s already on the track. Yet a remix was made with a Kanye West. The beat wasn’t changed and the song wasn’t altered as far as placement of Beyoncé’s & Jay Z’s verses, so it wasn’t bad. Plus I need a little extra on the track being that it’s getting boring and repetitive after hearing it ALL THE TIME! Now T.I. wants in on the remix, but the entire song changed with this trap/EDM beat. Nothing against that genre it just does not work with the song and if a beat like that was going to be used maybe a different one would have been more suitable. I’m a DIE HARD T.I. fan, but this remix is just a mess. He has bars, but he was NOT needed for a remix whether it’s official or not. Despite T.I. being a legend in his own right he’s not really talking about anything. He talks about the same thing now and it takes away from what he’s created over the years as a rapper. He’s boring, repetitive, and needs to stop. As a die hard fan, I can admit this.

The song should have been left alone. Plus it’s FEBRUARY, the song dropped two months ago. The remixes should’ve been happening as soon as the song was released. On top of T.I. doing a remix, The Weeknd did one as well. Another one that I’m not impressed by. It’s like if you’re going to do a remix do it while the song is still fresh.

For instance, take Nicki Minaj’s, ‘Lookin A** Ni**a.’ All the remixes are being done because the song is so HOT right now that dudes jumped on the track making a remix of their own such as Cassidy and Trey Songz. Beyoncé’s track is not one that needs a response. Plus if there was to be a response, itshould’ve happened already.

As great as Beyoncé’s album WAS, no songs are really getting airplay and the only reason ‘Drunk In Love’ is getting airplay is because she’s Beyoncé. Hearing the same song over and over can be tiring.

Welp click here for the Kanye remix.

NEW MUSIC — Beyoncé x Jay Z x Kanye West, ‘Drunk In Love (Remix)’

I can’t wait to hear this remix on the radio waves. I love when Kanye adds his flare to a track and what better way than for him to team up with the fan. I also like the cute little segue between Bey’s ‘flashing lights’& Kanye’s. There’s not much difference than that of the original except for Ye starting off with the song. I could’ve used another verse from Jay, but I can’t wait to hear this one on NYCs Hot 97 / Power 105.1. It’ll be up come Monday.

Beyoncé’s, ‘Drunk In Love’, to be Edited on UK Station

Beyoncé has been getting a lot of flack about the lyrics to her new self-titled album and it doesn’t seem to be stopping. UK radio station, Bang Radio, has banned a part of Jay Z’s lyrics from ‘Drunk In Love’ for domestic violence. What type of domestic violence did he insinuate?

I’m Ike, Turner turn up/ Baby know I don’t play / Now eat the cake, Anna Mae / I said eat the cake, Anna Mae

That is one of the prolific scenes from the Tina Turner biopic starring Angela Basset. Bang Radio’s CEO, Jennifer Ogle, released a statement:

The lyrics controversially imitate a scene of severe domestic violence within the film, displaying promotion of domestic violence against women. In this light Bang [refuses] to play the song lyrics from henceforth on our station. We believe in the unity of women and music and in no way condone violence, domestic or otherwise, especially not through the power of music. Therefore, the decision has been made to wipe the stated lyrics from the song … Respectful of what our audience [wants] to hear on Bang Radio, we feel this is the right action to take in regards to the controversial lyrics of the song and we will continue to serve in social equality for people through music and content on our station.

From the first half of the statement it said that the song would no longer be played, but near the end the decision was changed to the song being played with the lyrics removed. This could be done one of two ways. Jay Z’s lyrics could be removed from the song entirely or his lyrics can still be played just removing the part insinuating domestic violence with some looping. I really would have thought that the song would get banned for the sexual innuendos instead of the domestic violence insinuation that clearly went over my head.

The song is doing very well on the charts ranking in the top 5 on the R&B/Hip-Hop charts. The album itself is holding on at #2 on the Billboard 200.

Well if you would like to keep up the Carters you can catch them (including Baby Blue) all over the blogs and Beyoncé’s Instagram. The couple is also slated to perform at the Grammy’s this Sunday (1/26/14).
