Don’t Wait Until Tomorrow

In late October of last year, a friend of my grandmothers passed away. Lately, it seems as though a lot of her friends/acquaintances are passing yet she remains standing. At 85 she has persevered through health challenges of her own and lives to tell about it. Yet recently, she’s been in a fog thinking about how blessed she is to be alive and now closer she is to the grave. Her words, not mine. Now here we are not even a full month into 2018 and the husband of that woman, my grandfather’s best friend has passed away as well. Continue reading “Don’t Wait Until Tomorrow “

Chaotic Visions | Cocoa Twins

Black girl magic on deck with this edition of Chaotic Visions and Day 18 of BLOGMAS!  This is the final installment of 2017 and I am beyond happy to have shared the amazing stories of 9 phenomenal female entrepreneurs. I mean, who doesn’t love an all female cast! When I came up with the idea of Chaotic Visions in December of 2016 my purpose was to simply share the stories of women and their brands and what crazy idea they had to create them. Thankfully and successfully, in my opinion, I’ve been able to do just that.

This last go round for the year features Jamesha Bazemore of Cocoa Twins. As a planner girl, I’ve seen Jamesha’s designs on both Facebook and Instagram. I mean, plenty of people sell products. What makes Cocoa Twins so unique are the black faces that are on them. Hence why I said, BLACK GIRL MAGIC ON DECK! It’s not often you see a backpack with a black girl, a happy young brown girl on the front with bright colors and Afro puffs. Yes, there’s something for the boys as well. Still, this innovative collection is one that needs more shine. Let’s get to it!

Tis the Season To Be Giving

Back on track with Blogmas and it’s Day 17. To all new readers, welcome. Blogmas is a post every day leading up to Christmas. Similar to how YouTubers vlog leading up to Christmas. To returning readers, thank you for checking out yet another post. I wanted to share the process this year as I gather items to create gift bags for a local nursing home. I do this on a yearly basis and I decided to walk you all through what I do versus just the finished product.

Chaotic Reads | Current ‘To Read’ List

I love audiobooks, but there are some books that I want to physically take the time to read. Audiobooks are convenient as I can listen to them while I commute or throughout my work day. There’s also digital books that work for any device whether it’s my phone or iPad. Then again, taking the time to sit on my couch for an hour at night reading and bonding with a book is something I’ve ignored for years. There are plenty of options for me to choose from and here I am again with another reading list. One day I’ll trek through all the books I want to read, but I’d love to incorporate an 30 minutes to an hour daily of no TV, no electronics, just a book.

Chaotic Reads: Coffee Table Books

I do not read nearly as much as I should. It’s as if my books have become décor collecting dust. While I have a reading list that I’ll slowly but surely get through, I have a knack for collecting coffee table books. Well, what I consider a coffee table book. These are easy to find at your local Home Goods, TJ Maxx, Ross, thrift store, etc. They’re gorgeous, filled with pictures, some have text, but ultimately they make a statement. I have a collection accumulated quite the collection that defines my personality and interests.

Motivational Monday | Whatever Keeps the Anxiety Away!

Life has been absolutely amazing. I can’t complain. Everything finally seems to be falling into place. I’ve shared my journey to finding a career throughout various blog posts. It can be difficult. It’s never been easy. The one thing that’s kept me going is my determination, support from my family, and most importantly my faith in God. Despite the peak of my life right now and how fulfilled I am, one thing that won’t stay away is my anxiety. I’ve had to think outside the box and find ways to keep it away and keep moving forward.
