I always have this lofty goal to read as much as possible. Each year I have this huge reading list and to be honest, maybe just maybe I’ll get through a book or two. Not to say I don’t enjoy reading, I just read on my phone instead of an actual book. No it’s nothing wrong with that since I have the ability to carry multiple books around in a single device. Still, I want to read the books I actually have serving as decor on my shelf. There’s a few that I’ve added to my collection that are a must read so let’s jump right to the list

Within the last year, I added a few books to my collection that were new releases and I knew I’d actually read upon purchase:

A glimpse of my 2019 reading list. – While I read quite a bit on my phone and listen to @audible while I’m working/driving, there’s nothing like kicking back and turning the pages of a book. Taking my time with each of these. Not commiting to one a month, I know my limits. When I pick it up I’ll read as much as I can until the next sitting 🤷🏽♀️ Being honest with myself. – Check out my full reading list on the blog, linked in bio, or directly here: bit.ly/readinglistcc19
- Becoming – Michelle Obama
- Promise Me Dad: A Year or Hope, Hardship, and Purpose – Joe Biden
- What on Earth Am I Here For: The Purpose Driven Life – Rick Warren
The real question is, have I started reading any one of these? Thankfully, yes. I started with What on Earth Am I Here For. I’m starting off pretty slow with my pace of reading. This book is broken into 42 days, so I’m reading at that pace versus tackling the book in chunks. Taking it slow not only holds me accountable, but I’m also able to digest what I’m reading each day and reflect. I could be reading the Joe Biden/Michelle Obama book in between (at least an hour a day), but no pressure. I want to be inspired when I read, not forced. No need to rush through a reading list. After reading a couple pages of the Joe Biden book, I may be starting on that one next.
