I’m back on the Happy Planner bandwagon. I haven’t used on in over a year, although I’ve been inspired by the various ways they’re being used in the planner community. I used a classic size when I was using it daily. I have a BIG Happy Planner for memory planning. All I was missing was a mini HP. So, when I found one on sale at Tuesday Morning, I couldn’t pass it up.

Being that you can customize any Happy Planner due to the discbound system, you do not have to stick to the pages that it comes with. Out of the selection that is available, I would incorporate project pages and daily pages specifically among the weekly pages. I also like the tabs, but if you’re into anything DIT you can make your own from what you already have in your stash.
Which One Did I Choose?
The mini HP I picked up is the Everyday Essentials, 2017-2018. The cover is fitting, ‘Hooray for Today.’ I wasn’t to particular on what mini Happy Planner I could get my hands on simply because the system is so customizable. I love the dividers of this planner in particular. Furthermore, no matter where you start in the planner, all you have to do is move that particular month to the front and readjust the placement of all the others. That simple.
Why a Mini Happy Planner?
I am content with my current planner. I’m using a dot grid journal which houses not only my daily plans, but any notes I have on blogging, life in general, my habit tracker, and more. I want to keep this planner style personal and leave work projects out of it.
The style of the mini Happy Planner is horizontal. I’m not a huge fan of the horizontal style, but I can easily make the layout work with two vertical lists in each day. I love the compact size as it will fit in any bag that I have. Plus, it’s undated!
Ways to Use Mini Happy Planner
While it can easily be used as an on the go, catch all planner – there are different ways to implement the mini HP into your planner style:
- Faith Planning
- Daily Journaling
- Projects Planner
- Meal Planning
Best Time to Purchase
I purchased the 2017-2018 edition and you can currently get these editions for $9.99 once the Summer is over. Tuesday Morning has Happy Planner products for an even larger discount so I found the mini HP for $5.99. Being that it’s undated, this is the best time to purchase as you can not only use them any time of year, but they’re great to have on hand for various projects.
