Super Bowl Aftermath

Super Bowl LII Champions …

Philadelphia Eagles …

Patriots Lose, Patriots Lose

I just wouldn’t be me if I didn’t share me take on Super Bowl 52. I usually share the same day/following Monday, but we’re a week late. Better late than never, right? It’s like a tradition for me to talk about the game and halftime. I’ve been doing so for quite some time now. Catch up below:

No need in stopping this year even if I am a week off.

As a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan I went into the game not caring who would win. I mean, my team wasn’t in it. I’ve been depressed since we lost to the Jaguars in the Divisional round. I will say that I’m over the Patriots winning. I’m sick of the organization. I’m sick of Brady. I’m sick of that damn Gronk spike. I’m sick of seeing Robert Kraft in the sky box. I’m sick of same face Bill Belichick. Oh, and screw James Harrison. So, there’s some animosity there. Not to mention that the Patriots winning would tie them with the Steelers for most Super Bowl wins. Yeah, not interested.

Well, the Eagles came through. For the first time in their franchise, THEY CAME THROUGH! For the first time, in a long time, the entire game was entertaining. Defense was on it. Offense was on it. There wasn’t a whole bunch of unnecessary flags. It came down to the wire, and this time around, Brady had no 4th quarter magic. The better team won in this case, but from beginning to end, phenomenal game.

Now, Patriots fans will argue that some of the touchdowns were questionable. Hell, now they know how the rest of the NFL feels when they get screwed one way or another by the refs changing their decision in favor of the Patriots. I’m still not over Jesse James touchdown being reversed to an incomplete pass. We would’ve won that game. We should’ve one that game. Okay, Lakia. Stay on topic here. This is about the Eagles beating the Patriots and winning their first ever Lombardi trophy, right?

The fact that the Eagles beat the Patriots shows just how amazing their team really was this season. I mean, a record of 13-3. That’s impressive. Not many people thought that the Eagles would win since they lost to the Patriots back when McNabb was quarterback. That was sad! Oddly enough, Justin Timberlake was in that halftime show too. I’ll get to him in a second. To have the underdogs win? They beat the almighty Brady/Belichick. Yup, they did! I’m happy for them. I’m happy that Patriots fans are unhappy because BOY they like to rub it in when they win. I just wonder, how will they adjust to couch surfing once Brady is done? Oh trust me, it’s coming.

Getting back to the halftime show. I wasn’t impressed. Now, I’m a fan of Justin Timberlake’s music, but not his performance. I enjoyed his MTV Vanguard performance better. I would’ve loved for him to bring out *NSYNC and hit us with a throwback. I understand why he didn’t. This was all about him this time and he needed to recover from the foolery of what he did to Janet Jackson. I went there. Why not address the elephant in the room. The different stages and then the Prince teleprompter. Eh, it was lackluster for me.

Putting halftime aside, I enjoyed watching the game from beginning to end. Even happier with the results. Congrats Eagles. Enjoy the high while it lasts.

Until next year …
