Buffalo Plaid Obsessed

Happy FriYAY! It’s time for the weekend and it is Day 8 of blogmas. So happy that I have been on a roll with these. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone that has been reading daily and leaving comments. I truly appreciate it. To all new readers, welcome to blogmas where I’ll be posting every day leading up to Christmas. Yesterday I shared planner tips and today I’m talking all things plaid.

As always, be sure to click the links throughout this post for related posts and links to purchase items/similar styles featured.

My obsession with plaid began years ago. I have always loved the classic print, but lately it’s been everywhere. Maybe it’s the time of year, but the growing trend of popular demand has it scattered across every single store you go into. I have a plaid shirt collection that all began with a pink and grey one I picked up from a Gap Outlet when I was in college. Since then I’ve been adding to that collection with various colors and I like to style them with boyfriend jeans or wrap them around my waist.

The latest to my collection I purchased a couple years ago while visiting family from Value Village (#thrifting)! I love men’s flannels in brown and red. I mean, I couldn’t leave the buffalo plaid behind. Both were under $10 each. When wearing flannels, I prefer them to be a bit looser as that’s just my style for casual wear. I’m team comfy and cozy!

My grandmother gifted me flannel buffalo plaid sheets last Christmas and I always told myself I would never have flannel sheet. I get hot when I’m sleeping and I hate waking up in a sweat. Still, they are the most COMFORTABLE sheets that I have and this Black Friday, I snagged a Kohl’s reversible comforter that matched it PERFECTLY! This weekend I’ll be adding a touch of Christmas to my bedroom and breaking out my flannels. We’re expected to get a little snow this Saturday so I’m looking forward to sleeping in and binge watching movies on Netflix or catching up on my favorite vloggers.

Then there’s the throw blankets that I keep on my couch. I absolutely love them and I find myself buying a new one every year. Not that I need one, but I still buy it. I have the super thin ones. You know the ones that are not the fleece. Oh, but the fleece is just so comfy. Then there’ the Sherpa ones. The options of throw blankets are ENDLESS and they’re not that expensive especially when you catch a sale.

Even my planner got some plaid love with my weekly insert and the gorgeous plaid paperclip from the Etsy shop, Peonies Paperie. It works perfectly in my Christmas set up and that’s as much plaid as I use in my planner throughout the year. What better time than December.

You can find buffalo plaid, or plaid of any kind, in just about every store you enter this holiday season. I highly recommend checking for sales and using coupons when you can. Also, after the holiday season, be sure to check out the clearance section for even steeper discounts.
