I haven’t shared any monthly, quarterly, or favorites in quite some time. Life has been crazy and hectic, but in a good way and I’ve had to make changes. The key change was finding a hairstyle that took little maintenance. My go to hair style for years has been braids. They’re easy, I do them myself, and switch it up when I want. So why not share my holy grail hair products, right? Right.

I never really paid attention to the shampoo and conditioner that I was using. It didn’t really matter to me. I’ve used just about everything from Suave to TRESemme. Last Summer my sister recommend Cantu. I love a deep conditioner and regardless of my shampoo I have to have a deep conditioner. I loved the Doo-Grow one that I used for years. Since I was trying out the Cantu conditioner, I decided to purchase the Leave In Conditioner (repair cream). I leave it in my hair for 30-45 minutes with a shower cap on (depending on my mood). Once I finish this one, I’ll purchase the Grow String Strengthening Treatment. I purchased both last Summer and a year later I have enough to get me through to December.
OGX Moroccan Penetrating Oil
I found this product a few years ago randomly in Target. Let me just say that this smells AMAZING! I use it after I wash my hair and thoroughly apply it root to tip and comb through. I jut love this stuff. I’ll buy again and again and again. What I love most is that a little goes a long way. It’s not a product I have to buy frequently. The bottle is only 3.3 ounces, but trust you will not need a lot to moisturize your hair. The price is worth it as well due to how long it lasts.
While I don’t slay my “baby hairs” like other girls oh so eloquently have mastered, I do love edge control. There’s a variety of brands that sell it. I’m loving the Cream of Nature Perfect Edges. I use it whether my hair is flat ironed, or braided. When using it when braiding my hair, my hair adheres better to the synthetic hair when I use it. I apply it from root to tip and then braid.
Hair Food Oil
Last but not least, I love hair food oil. My grandmother gave it to me to oil my hair with my braids. The bottle is perfect to not get my hands greasy and moisturize my hair within seconds. I’m still working through a bottle that I’ve had for a while, but it’s time for me to get a new one.
