Summer is in full swing and I am determined to stay on track with my workouts and healthy eating. This is not just a fad or some diet that I’m on. It’s changing my lifestyle simply so I feel and look better. In this post I’ll be sharing a glimpse of what I eat in a day. I work 8 hours out of the day and being stagnant could lead to poor food choices.
Disclaimer: This is what I eat in a day. There are always healthier alternatives/substitutes that you can use. It’s all about personal preference.

What I’m Eating
As noted, I work 8 hours a day and my position consists of a lot of computer time and when you’re sitting at a desk instead of constantly moving, you may find yourself eating more or waiting so long to eat that you’re binge eating. I plan out what I eat based off breakfast, lunch, and snacks that will fill me for the day, but are healthier alternatives.
My go to breakfast is some type of protein. I have done yogurt and a banana or yogurt and strawberries. Basically, yogurt and some type of fruit. This time around I went with a baked hash brown and an egg with some watermelon that I packed as a snack. I eat half of that portion for breakfast and the other half some time throughout the day.
I had to get new containers for my lunch and they needed to meet the following criteria:
- BPA Free
- 3 or More Compartments
Amazon, of course, had plenty of options for me to choose from. In the two smaller compartments I usually keep fruits or vegetables. The larger compartment holds the bulk of my lunch. Since I’ve purchased these containers I’ve done sandwiches, salmon salad with crackers, and pasta. This particular week I ate spaghetti, bananas, strawberries, and watermelon.

My snack options are pretty standard. I do a combination of pretzels and some type of cracker. I’ll add in some Nutri-Grain bars, but I preferably prefer fruit. My go to are definitely strawberries, grapes, and watermelon (since it’s in season). I pack my snacks in sandwich bags and in my lunch bag they go.
What I drink
I’ve been really good at not drinking soda or juices especially while I’m working. Now at home, I have curbed my soda craving. I’ve completely cut out Pepsi and if I have a soda it’s Ginger Ale. Other than that, I drink nothing but water at work. I need to definitely drink more, but my goal is 6+ bottles a day.
