Dollar Tree has become one of my favorite stores over the years. The store chain has grown immensely and there are plenty of locations that I have at my disposal. Some locations are better than others and some locations I go to for particular items. I prefer the locations that have the grocery/frozen food section. My favorite Dollar Tree find, $1 bread!

You may be thinking, $1 Dollar Tree bread, big whoop. This is not just generic bread. This is Peperidge Farm bread, a name brand you can find in local grocery stores and of course Target and WalMart. Once a month my grandmother and I have a couple locations that we like to go to where they usually have quite a selection of the Pepperidge Farm bread and this time around was no different. We spent a total of $24, $2 was spent on the Dollar Tree whipped cream cheese. Here’s what we purchased:
- 4 loaves of Pepperidge Farm Strawberry Swirl
- 4 loaves of Pepperidge Farm Blueberry Swirl
- 4 loaves of Pepperidge Farm Oatmeal Apple Cinnamon Swirl
- 1 loaf of Pepperidge Farm Raisin Cinnamon Swirl
- 1 loaf of Pepperidge Farm Oatmeal Brown Sugar Swirl
- 1 package of Pepperidge Farm Plain bagels
- 1 package of Pepperidge Farm Raisin bagels
- 1 loaf of Pepperidge Farm Whole Grain 100% Honey Wheat
- 1 loaf of Pepperidge Farm Light Style 7 Grain
- 1 loaf of Pepperidge Farm Jewish Rye Bread
Yes, 22 LOAVES OF BREAD for just $22. If this would have been purchased at our local grocery store or Walmart/Target it would have cost nearly $75.
Why so much bread?
It’s just my grandmother and I so we would not need 22 loaves of bread. We do donate quite a bit to the Senior Center at my church. We also bought some for a family friend. Usually when it’s just my grandmother and I shopping for ourselves, we’ll spend around $10 and that will last us a month. There are certain Dollar Tree’s that we go to that we know will have this bread. Check out your local Dollar Tree!
Where do I store it?
Thankfully we have a standup deep freezer to hold it all. This was a larger trip so the bread is taking up an entire shelf. Also within that deep freezer overflow of items that we do not reach for as much while our refrigerator freezer houses what we reach for more often. The deep freezer has not just the overflow of bread, but frozen vegetables and meats as well.
How does it fit in with my meal prep?
I do not eat a lot of the bread to begin with. Well, I LOVE BREAD (Oprah voice), but I have had to cut back. I strategically prep out my meals for Monday to Friday and my favorite score from the Dollar Tree are the Pepperidge Farm Sandwich Thins which come 8 in pack which spans for a little over 2 full weeks. As for the other bread I will cut a bagel into 1/4ths and add a egg. Similar to the swirl breads, I just go with one slice and add an egg.
Some people may be a little sketchy about buying from the Dollar Tree and some people may think that buying $22 worth of bread is excessive. You live your life the way you want and why not take advantage of the deals that are available. It’s NOTHING wrong with wanting to save money and between having family over from time to time and just for daily use, certain items I stock up on and thankfully I’m able to find name brands at Dollar Tree.
