Halloween Memory Lane

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Monday is usually a slot for my Motivational Monday, which will resume next week, but I thought, why not have a little fun today? I’m actually off from work today, but I have something fun coming to the blog this week so the work is never done. Then again, when you’re doing what you love, it’s not work right, right.

I thought for this Halloween edition on Chaotic Critic that I’d take a stroll down memory lane plus plug in a few Halloween questions circulating the web.

So for the past two years, especially since I worked at a daycare, I made it my BUSINESS to whip up a costume. I was a Ninja Turtle with two of my coworkers back in 2014 and last year I was Captain America. Let me tell you, putting that shield together was no easy task, but with the help of my friend, it turned out great.

This year, if I had Halloween plans, I would’ve been Lady Deadpool. I have these black & red leggings that I never wear and all I needed was to whip together some accessories, throw on some combat boots, and there’s my costume. I’m all for the DIY.

Taking a stroll down memory lane, one year I was a hippie and my little brother was a firefighter. It was the only costume I could find at Zany Brainy (oh how I miss that store). Sidebar & fun fact, Five Below took its place. This is what happens when your parents get you a costume last minute. Taking it back even further, I was Nala from Lion King. I was also Baby Bop one year.

Let’s get into some questions.

1. Favorite Halloween song?

I love ‘This Is Halloween,’ but Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ is a classic!

2. Witch or Vampire?

Vampires for sure.

3. Favorite thing about Halloween?

I love the candy, of course, but people get really creative. I love to see themed costumes, but the bizarre ones are great as well. You could look all over the web and see just how creative people get with what you may not even think of turning into a costume. There’s a lot more DIY these days.

4. Halloween party or scary movie marathon?

I’m a home body, but a scary movie marathon. You can always merge the two and have both.

5. Skeletons or Zombies?

Hm. Speaking of Zombies, Zombieland was was absolutely hilarious. I’ll go with skeletons though.

6. Favorite Halloween candy?

I eat candy all the time, lol, but I love the mini kit kats and Milky Ways.

7. Favorite Halloween movie?

I don’t watch a lot of Halloween movies. My boyfriend gets on me all the time for not being a movie buff, BUT anytime Casper is on, I’m there. I also love Nightmare Before Christmas.

8. Favorite Halloween costume?

I’ve been a turtle, a hippie, a bee, but I’d have to say my favorite Halloween costume would have to be my Captain America that I whipped up last year.

9. Favorite Halloween store?

I don’t have one. All the Halloween stores in my area are always run down. No matter if it just opened or not, always a mess. I have yet to walk into one that’s put together.

10. Jack-o-lanterns, yes or no?

Eh, no. I was never really into the pumpkin carving.

11. Bats or Black Cats?

I hate cats (sorry cat lovers), so I’ll go with bats. Although I could do without both, I’ll go with bats.

12. Is Halloween your favorite holiday?

Definitely not. I’m  a Christmas tree hugging lover for sure.

13. Pumpkin spice latte or hot chocolate?

As I mentioned in my Sweater Weather post, hot chocolate for sure. I HATE all things pumpkin. Yuck!
