October Plan With Me

It’s October. That means holiday season is about to be in full swing. Clocks will be set back, stores will be flooded with people, and my birthday is around the corner. YES, it’s officially my birthday month. Cheers to 25 on October 15th (insert the obnoxious cheesy emoji). In this post I wanted to share how I decorated my planner for October. I mean, of course, I’m a planner.

For this month I wasn’t really sure if I wanted to go with a glam spread or if I wanted to keep it holiday themed for Halloween. I decided to go with Halloween since I had the stickers for it. I mean, it only comes around once a year so why not.

I took the pumpkins from the Spooky Pumpkin Darice sticker book to fill in the left over days from September. I usually put washi there, but these pumpkins worked great. I also used a that I had from the Happy Planner seasonal box kit. The box kit came with not only the planner, but sticky notes, a magnetic clip, and 4 seasonal sticker sheets. Awesome deal!

I wrote in the birthdays of some of my favorite people, added in my paydays, and of course my Steelers schedule. Those stickers are from RakPaperStickers and I bought two sheets to use in both my monthly and weekly spreads. The wrestling pay-per-view stickers I made myself two sets of each pay-per-view for my monthly and weekly. Pretty typical for me to have two sets for football and wrestling.

Planner Tip: Have a sticker that doesn’t necessarily match your theme? Try layering coordinating washi underneath it.

The main thing missing from this spread are my bills. I usually put them in the sidebar because putting them in the monthly spread makes it a bit crowded. To be honest, I don’t look at this spread a lot, but it’s always fun to decorate. I have my bills memorized and I put them in my weekly spreads.

My bills typically go in the sidebar, but I used scrapbook paper I purchased from AC Moore and covered it and layered stickers on top of it. Of course when it’s a longer month the days are split, but never let that stop you from adding stickers, small or large. Get creative.

Planner Tip: Have something on a Sunday in your planner, but don’t have the space to add it? Put it in the sidebar and add an arrow.
