Michaels Clearance Home Decor Haul

I recently went to Michaels just to see what they had in stock. I’ve been eyeing a personal planner for quite some time, but I still haven’t bought it. The planner sale was buy 1 get one 50% off. Yeah, that’s not good enough for me. I prefer to use a 50% off coupon on one item. Anyway, while I didn’t purchase any planner items, I found the mother load of home decor. I’m talking 70% and 80% off.

As always be sure to click the links throughout the post for related posts and links to items/similar styles featured.

At the first location I went to  I found Heidi Swapp light box tapes for $1. Yes, $1. These are a regular $5 each. I’m not sure exactly what I’m using them for, but they will be incorporated into my office transformation somewhere. I bought two gold, two silver, one gold glitter, and the last a blue glitter. That blue glitter would be great in a mermaid theme. The Boho collection was also on sale so I ended up getting some rub on stickers that will be great for DIY planner covers (new DIY coming soon) or even a dashboard.

The second location was the jackpot of all jackpots. While this location is smaller and tighter, there’s a much better selection. I instantly went to the 80% section and I saw that the letters were ringing up from 39 cents to $1.99 depending on size. There were a lot of letters on sale and I was looking to spell out Girl Boss with whatever style was available. After rummaging through baskets on baskets full of letters I finally found a letter L that inspired my office them, ‘Around the World.’

I wasn’t sure what else I wound find, but I did find three pieces of wood for $3 that I can’t wait to turn into coasters. I also got a scrapbook paper pad from the Boho collection that rang up for $1.59. They had a larger one, but the smaller one will work prefect for the DIYs I have in mind.

Just when I wasn’t sure what else was going to come of my around the world theme, I found two shadowbox style hexagon frames with mini shelving. I only picked up two and I plan on making a gallery wall with them and adding little knick knacks. I’m not sure if I’ll be painting them or not just yet.

To add to that gallery wall, I found two pieces that have a combined retail value of $45, yet I paid a combined value of $9.  I found another shadow box that has popular cities written with a chalkboard theme. I really bought it because it had Pittsburgh and once I have it hung I can add my Steelers salt and pepper shakers on the inside. the other pice had arrows pointing in different directions with ‘be brave’ on the bottom. I was so happy to find it yet unsure of how much it would be. Once I scanned it and $5 came up, I wasn’t leaving it behind.

When you’re decorating it’s recommended that your buy your decor in odds. I definitely have my 5 pieces for my gallery wall. I’m unsure of where I’m going to put it since my office is literally in shambles right now. Stay tuned for my office transformation vlogs coming soon.
