Cheers to another plan with me here on the blog. In this edition I’m sharing my vacay spread. I went to the DMV (D.C./Maryland/Virginia) to visit family and while it wasn’t anywhere tropical, it was hot, and a vacay is a vacay. Be sure to check out my collective haul from my vacay HERE.

I was so happy to receive the DotsandDashCo kit in my swag bag from the NJ Planner Meetup. It was perfect timing for me to use it for my vacation week. With Summer winding down, I would’ve used it within the next few weeks anyway.
I primarily stick to using a the kit. It came with four sheets: ombre heart checklist, functional, washi, full boxes, and 2 functional. The first functional sheet had half boxes and headers, flags, and icons. The second functional sheet had 2 additional full boxes, 2 ‘to do’ boxes, checklists, deco, bottom washi, and a weekend banner. Since the washi was so thin on the bottom, I layered the gold foil washi I had in my stash on top and throughout the spread here and there.
It was great to have 10 full boxes to use. I put one to cover the calendar, which is my usual, then I added an extra one to Wednesday since I did quite a bit of shopping and the additional one I cut in half to layer behind the weekend banner. I got that idea from RubyTrev when I started watching her Plan As I Go videos and I love the style.
Aside from covering the calendar in my sidebar, I added the packages I was expecting while I was away, plus my blog posts for the week. So long to the weekly homework checklist since I am officially done with school.
Throughout the week I sat down like I usually do to plan, but since I was on vacation I wasn’t pulling out a planner or a tripod to film the process. My favorite addition would definitely be the road stickers from Stickeriffic. I used them not only to mark when I arrived and left Maryland, but to mark when we went on a city tour of DC and when we spent the day shopping at Pentagon City Mall.
I typically don’t use a lot of half boxes in my spreads since I don’t always have them, but they are one of my favorite stickers. They’re great to highlight the most important event of the day and they look great layered on top of full boxes.
This spread turned out amazing. I love it way more than my vacay spread from last year. What changed this time around is that I planned as I went. I wasn’t forcing or trying anything fancy. Also having the kit as a guide really helped as well.
