Welcome to another edition of This Week In Music. It’s been a slow week on my blog thank to grad school, but I have a lot of content coming that I hope my readers will enjoy. So what’s to come?
- Fitness Update — I have a haul of workout clothes that I’ve been meaning to share along with my new healthy eating path. Also coming soon is a Daily Fitness Routine.
- Fashion Haul — I have some clothing to share from before my vacay (back in July) to now.
- Plandemonium — It just wouldn’t be right if I didn’t keep sharing my planner obsession. Be on the lookout for more Plan With Me’s plus more. Click HERE for my latest edition.
- Summer Favorites — I haven’t been in to much music this Summer, but I have a lot of other favorites I can’t wait to share.
So getting back to music news be sure to click HERE for last weeks edition. This edition will be pretty brief, but let’s start with top of the charts. Over on the Billboard 200 Luke Bryan has the #1 album with Kill The Lights followed by Dr. Dre’s Compton. Now 55 rounded off the top 3. As for #1 on the Hot 100 OMI’s ‘Cheerleader’ knocks of The Weeknd’s ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ which drops to #2. Rounding off the top 3 is Silento’s ‘Watch Me.’
Speaking of The Weeknd, his new album is set to be titled Beauty Behind Madness. I wonder what kind of sound it will have. I wonder if it will be signature weekend or more mainstream like ‘Can’t Feel My Face.’ Chris Brown also announced that his next album will be titled Royalty, named after his adorable daughter. Maybe he’ll add her to the executive producers list like Nas did for his daughter so she can collect those royalty checks.
As for new music, I really haven’t been checking for anything or anyone. The only person I’d like to hear new music from is Adele. Still waiting. On another note, Melanie Fiona has released a new video for her single ‘Bite the Bullet.’ It has a nice reggae vibe, but unfortunately since she does R&B and it doesn’t involve twerking or repetitive lingo it probably won’t be heard on the radio. No surprise there. Take a listen below:
I came across Future’s new video featuring Drake for his track ‘Where Ya At.’ Yeah, I could take ‘F*ck Up Some Commas’ and that gibberish, but I’m just not interested. This track and whatever the other one was talking about blessing the trap stars. Shout out to the people that are with him. I just can’t rock with the same old sound. I’m over it. Anyway, check out the video below:
Lastly, Taylor Swift will forever hang with the Lakers as she has her own banner at the Staples Center. As she kicked off her 5-date set in LA, Mr. Laker himself, Kobe Bryant came out as she was singing ‘Style.’ He went on to surprise her with a banner and honoring her for yet another record. The banner reads
Taylor Swift. Most Sold Out Performances
How many sold out shows for the nearly 26 year old? 16. It really is sweet. Major congrats to Taylor.
