This is a double header of Original v. Cover. I heard covers of both ‘B*tch Better Have My Money’ and ‘Trap Queen.’ Both of which I surprisingly enjoy.
I stumbled across a headline that said Kelly Clarkson covers Rihanna’s, ‘B*tch Better Have My Money’ and I couldn’t help but click on it. I was not expecting Kelly to slay like she did. Now of course some words were altered for obvious reasons and the hook was changed to ‘Y’all Better Have My Money.’
I love how her voice sounds over this. Like Kelly really slayed this. I know there might be some to keep Rihanna on this VOCAL pedestal, but while her voice is unique, Kelly Clarkson can really sing. While I’m not a huge fan of covers all the time, Kelly did this justice. I’m not really a fan of the song to begin with but kudos to her on this one. I thought in changing the words that it would take away from the essence of the song, but I enjoyed it.

Next up is Ed Sheeran’s cover of Hip-Hop newcomer Fetty Wap (JERSEY STAND UP!) Ed Sheeran teamed up with The Roots on this one and only his cute little self could pull this off. This could very well boost Fetty Wap’s track to the #1 spot simply because of this cover. People will listen just to say, “hey, remember when Ed Sheeran covered that track?” Ed Sheeran is so adorable for this one as you wouldn’t expect him to bump to Fetty Wap, but he’s so talented to be able to sing this. He’s so talented that he can put his voice on just about anything and take it to the next level. This just makes me love him even more as an artist.
