The iHeart Radio Awards will air May 1st LIVE on NBC and I’m back with another category to discuss. I first discussed Best Lyrics so be sure to check that out. This time around it’s Hip Hop/R&B Song of the Year. The top 10 were:
- “Pour It Up” – Rihanna
- “Power Trip” – J. Cole f/Miguel
- “Started From The Bottom” – Drake
- “I Luv This S**T” – August Alsina
- “Crooked Smile” – J. Cole f/TLC
- “Hold On We’re Going Home” – Drake f/Majid Jordan
- “Blurred Lines” – Robin Thicke f/T.I. & Pharrell
- “Bad” – Wale f/Tiara Thomas
- “Holy Grail” – Jay-Z f/Justin Timberlake
- “All Me” – Drake f/2 Chainz & Big Sean
Here are the final nominees:
This category is an interesting one being that Drake was nominated TWICE! When it comes down to I think it’ll be Jay Z v. Drake and Drake will take the crown. The OVO fans are HEAVY and although the Rihanna’s NAVY is die heard I just think this category is in Drake’s favor. My pick would have to be Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’. Not that I’m not a fan of the other 4 nominated songs it’s just that ‘Blurred Lines’ was everywhere and I can’t help but to still dance when the song comes on and it’s been like a year.
