It’s 3:31 am and I have been editing my blog like crazy getting things ready for the ‘official’ launch of what’s to come in 2014 for MusicMovingForward. As I’ve previously stated this blog was to initially, specifically, be about music, but I have evolved since then and music is a culture that’s forever evolving as well. With this being the 4th year on my blog I am making it my duty to blog every day. Not just pictures, but actual substance. I’ve been doing well so far (although I missed Jan. 2nd).
My blog will feature music and lifestyle which includes fashion, fitness, budgeting (yes I said budgeting, etc. I will continue to my track/album/video reviews. The premise of my blog is to give my take on music, BUT for music to evolve I must evolve also.
I came across this amazing piece via Instagram that has me inspired and is the meaning behind my weekly rant title.
Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old fils, new films, music, books, painting, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal fem that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery – celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: ‘It’s not where you take things from, it’s where you take them to.”
So I’m loving the new found inspiration I have and I’ve been drawing from all different directions, sources, etc. This is just what I needed to see to keep me going.
So here’s the ‘schedule’ I came up with regarding my yearly challenge to blog DAILY!
- Sunday Rants
- Motivation Monday
- New Music Tuesday
- Wellness Wednesday
- Then & Now Thursday
- Fashion Forward Friday
- Spicy Saturday
That’s a guaranteed post daily with music news & whatever comes up in between. Excited to start this.
Until next time …
